Bluesky: do & don't
Same trigger, different action, very different outcome. These are real rule shapes SocFlow supports today — paired with the compliant alternative for the same goal.
Engaging with keyword matches
Don't
Keyword match → Reply / Like / Follow
Auto-reply to, like, or follow everyone who happens to use a matching word.
Bluesky's own bot guidance is explicit: interactions (like, repost, reply, etc.) must be opt-in — only interact with an account that has tagged this one. A keyword match doesn't guarantee that. SocFlow doesn't offer these actions on this trigger for exactly this reason.
Do
Keyword match → Tag author
Flag matching posts so you can jump into the conversation personally.
You decide, post by post, whether and how to engage — no automated interaction ever reaches a stranger who hasn't tagged you.
Watching a specific account's posts
Don't
Tracked user posts → Reply / Like / Follow
Auto-engage with everything a specific account you're tracking posts.
Tracking someone's feed doesn't mean they've tagged this account — same opt-in requirement as a keyword match, just sourced from one person instead of a search.
Do
Tracked user posts → Tag author
Flag their new posts so you can decide, post by post, whether to engage.
The interaction stays a deliberate, individual choice rather than an automatic one.
Replying and following when it's earned
Don't
New follower (no filters) → Follow
Follow back every single new follower, unconditionally.
Bluesky's Community Guidelines separately ban artificially manipulating follower counts — following back with zero criteria at any volume risks reading as exactly that.
Do
Someone mentions me → Reply / Like / Follow
Engage automatically only when your account is the one actually tagged.
The tag itself is the opt-in signal Bluesky's guidance asks for — this combo stays fully available.
