Mastodon

Mastodon doesn't require a developer app either — just enter your instance domain and SocFlow handles registration for you.

  1. 1In SocFlow's connect dialog for Mastodon, enter your instance domain (e.g. mastodon.social) — not your handle.
  2. 2SocFlow registers itself with that instance automatically and takes you through the instance's standard OAuth sign-in — you approve the connection there, on your instance.

Moderation is instance-specific

Mastodon is federated — each instance sets and enforces its own automation/bot rules, and there's no platform-wide API rejection like X's duplicate-content check. A rule that violates your instance's policy risks silent moderation action from that instance's admins rather than an API error. Check your instance's rules before automating replies or posts.
